Skip Mr Whippy, skip the protein shake and use this as your post-workout treat!
Combing your protein powder with cherries to improve recovery, this delicious treat ticks all the boxes. Research has shown that cherries can improve recovery due to their anti-inflammatory properties which decreases muscle pain…Plus they are delicious!
Use a protein powder you like or you won’t like the ice-cream.
1 scoop chocolate protein powder of choice (I choose whey proteins which have 3 ingredients only, whey protein isolate, cacao and a natural sweetener like xylitol or stevia).
100g frozen cherries
½ cup milk of choice (I use almond milk)
Optional- sweetener of choice such as liquid or granulated stevia, honey or coconut sugar (I don’t use one, I think its sweet enough with protein powder and cherries)
1. In a blender combine the ingredients to desired texture;
2. Pour into a container or bowl and place in freezer for at least an hour;
3. Enjoy! I love it slightly melted so leave it out for 10 minutes or so before eating.
